Six participants successfully completed the first certificate course “Smart Materials”, which took place over four months (2 day-blocks, every two weeks). Participants were able to follow short courses in the field of 3D printing (metal, polymer and composite). A series of courses given by industry professionals and academic experts then enabled them to discover the operating principles and the many potential applications of Smart Materials, including shape-memory alloys, electrochromic materials, non-Newtonian fluids, etc…
A special event took place at HIRSCH Servo AG, in Glanegg, to celebrate the end of course. After one final lecture and a guided tour through the production site of HIRSCH Servo, the certificates were awarded to the six participants. The next course will start in March 2022.
